Rishi Coffin

Rishi Coffin
This term is used to denote a type of anthropoid coffin used during the late Second Intermediate Period and early Dynasty 18. The body of the coffin was decorated in a feather pattern that was probably meant to evoke the goddess Nutto envelop the deceased in her protective embrace.
